Bruce Contemporaries Brittany Vogel Studio Tour

Enjoy the recording of Brittany Vogel, in conversation with Bruce Contemporaries member, Shari Aser. These friends and former colleagues discuss Brittany's process and recent works as well as her transition from working in a studio to working at home through the pandemic.

It may surprise you to know that award-winning artist Brittany Vogel, known for her expressive painting, drawings, and mixed media artwork, started her career as a salesperson for IBM. She then moved on to brand management for consumer-packaged goods following the completion of her MBA from New York University. A corporate businesswoman turned full-time mother and artist brought a lot of conflicting emotions. Reflecting on her own experience, Brittany uses the common theme of oppositional forces throughout her work, which produces a multi-dimensional space and create tension but ultimately find balance in each other.

Hoboken, NJ resident Brittany Vogel studied art as a Junior Associate of the Museum of Modern Art for 12 years and studio art at the Art Students League of New York where she was awarded the Merit Scholarship in 2019. Many group shows have featured her work, distinguishing them with honors such as being showcased on the brochure cover. In 2020, Brittany created a 12-foot wide interactive mural in the Columbus Circle Subway Station celebrating the Suffragists and had a solo show of her Powerful Women series, which received a variety of positive press including a write-up in Yahoo! News and a front-page feature in Hmag. More recently, Brittany's work could be found at a 3 woman show at Prime Gallery and a feature in '07030 Magazine'. Press links and artwork can be found on http://www.BrittanyVogelArt.com or Instagram @BrittanyVogelArt
